What do we do?
The Michigan Department of Education has adopted a continuous improvement process known as MICIP. This process centers around the WSCC Model, a collaboration with ASCD and CDC, which places the individual student at the center of the model. Grounded in the five tenets of the WSCC Model, we provide services to assist our educators in helping students feel healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
Berrien RESA’s Whole Child Consultant offers consultation support and professional learning opportunities for educators in Berrien County. Areas of focus include: Equity, Trauma and Resilience in Education, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and Restorative Practices through using best practices and science implementation within the MTSS framework. In addition, the Whole Child Consultant provides MICIP support, as well as an understanding of the WSCC model and its implementation in the School Improvement Process.
