Pupil membership count days are established in the State Aid Act as the first (1st) Wednesday in October and the second (2nd) Wednesday in February. A district not in session for any reason, other than conditions not within the control of school authorities, with approval of the State Superintendent, CANNOT count students in membership. An attendance code must be marked in all programs at least on count day. It is suggested for the 6-week count period but the school year is recommended. The electronic attendance certification page is for a total of 6 weeks. The week before the count date, the week of the count date, and the 4 weeks following the count week (Sept 30 – Nov 4 and Feb 3 – March 16). Count weeks are defined as Wednesday to Tuesday.
