Health Science
Our Health Science courses include career preparation in areas such as EMT, athletic training, sports medicine, certified nursing assistant, patient health careers academy, and allied health.
Athletic training and sports medicine courses are designed to help students develop a general awareness of health careers with an emphasis on the prevention of athletic injuries, including the components of exercise science, kinesiology, anatomy, soft tissue and bone injuries, nutrition, and physical fitness.
EMT courses will allow the student to learn basic emergency medical skills and the basics of the EMS systems. They will also have an understanding of human anatomy & physiology, be able to respond to medical & traumatic emergencies, and be able to control an emergency scene.
Nurse aide training's overall objective is to provide quality services to residents in long-term care facilities. Once the student passes the lecture and lab portion of the course, they will be allowed to participate in a clinical experience.
Allied Health and Professional Health Careers Academy (PHCA) courses provide an overview of the evolving healthcare system and introduce students to a variety of careers. Hands-on learning and lab simulations will allow students to develop technical skills.
