Arts, A/V, Technology & Communications

Our Arts, A/V Technology & Communications courses focus on career preparation in areas such as commercial art, graphic design, and radio and TV broadcasting.

In commercial art, students will be able to demonstrate the principles of design in both two and three-dimensional forms through creation, exhibition, and writing.  Students will also be exposed to art through student shows, community building, and art history.

In graphic arts courses, students will become familiar with all the components of the graphic communication industry.  They will develop an understanding of the processes & systems common to careers in publishing, printing, and visual communication.  They will learn software such as Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

In our media communications courses (Radio & TV Broadcasting), students will dive deeper into industry-level media production skills such as methods and techniques for editing studio, field, and audio productions.  They will also cover pre-production safety, storyboarding, ethics & legal responsibilities, digital media (podcasting & webinars), broadcast journalism & communications.
