Pagel, Van Horn and Proos win Berrien RESA’s Biennial Election
On June 5, 2023, local school districts elected Dave Pagel of Berrien Springs to serve a 2-year term on the Berrien RESA Board of Education. His term will expire June 30, 2025. Jackie Van Horn of Stevensville and John Proos of St. Joseph both were elected to the Board to serve 6-year terms, expiring June 30, 2029. None of the races were contested.
During the district’s July organizational meeting, board members will determine positions and committee assignments for the next school year.
Berrien RESA’s Board of Education members are elected by Berrien County
school districts’ board of education members. Prior to the official election, each
local district adopts a resolution indicating whom they intend to vote for as well as
nominates a designee from their board to officially submit their district’s ballot.
Ballots were cast during an election held last night at Berrien RESA’s
Administrative Center.
