Superintendent Hoppstock Rated Highly Effective by Berrien RESA Board
BERRIEN SPRINGS – During yesterday’s Board of Education meeting, the Board completed its annual review of the district’s Superintendent, Eric Hoppstock. He received a highly effective evaluation, resulting in an extension of his contract by one year. Mr. Hoppstock will continue to serve the district through June 30, 2028.
"The Board understands the thankless role Mr. Hoppstock has superbly executed,” said Berrien RESA Board President Jon Martin. “We are thrilled with the strategic initiatives, staff engagement, and organizational resources that are being maximized under his leadership. There is no doubt that every student in our community is better served because of his willingness to listen, challenge conventional thinking, and work to bring out the best in everyone he meets. We are really fortunate to have him as our superintendent, as this evaluation and contract extension reflect."
For 37 years, Superintendent Hoppstock has provided education services to schools and students across Berrien County. Beginning his career at Berrien RESA in 1987, Hoppstock was a school psychologist, went on to become the Supervisor of the Special Education Department and then the district’s Assistant
Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer.
