Using Skype in the Classroom
Skype is an easy to use desktop videoconferencing tool that can be used to bring global resources, experts, and peer interactions to your classroom. Skype is great for short learning experiences such as:
- 10 minute free author chats - see Skype an Author Network
- 5-10 minute connections with partner classes - i.e. see recommended agenda from Around the World with 80 Schools
Skype is also used in our service area for:
- Connecting to students who are traveling abroad for a short time to share their learning and experiences back to the classroom
- Connecting home-bound students to a regular classroom for learning time with the class and teacher
- Connecting to Skype Content Providers
