Program Information

The mission of the Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center is to enhance the quality of mathematics and science education for all area students. The Center provides services to local school districts in the areas of professional development, curriculum support, student services, leadership, community involvement, and resource materials. The Center partners with the Berrien RESA to provide curriculum specialists in mathematics and science.

The Center operates a rigorous, half-day program in mathematics, science and technology for selected students in grades 9-12. this program is offered to school districts in Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan and serves about 110 students. Admission is highly competitive. Andrews University in Berrien Springs is the host site for the Center and university faculty teach all classes.

The Berrien County Mathematics and Science Center is a project of the Berrien Regional Education Service Agency. The Center is one of 33 regional centers in the Michigan Mathematics and Science Center Network. The Network supports the delivery of high quality mathematics and science education for all students in Michigan.The Center staff works seamlessly with other RESA departments to provide six essential services as required by the Michigan Mathematics and Science Centers Master Plan.
