Overview of the State Continuing Education Clock Hour (SCECH) Program
What are SCECHs?

Individuals who hold the following certificates are eligible to use SCECHs for renewal:
- Professional Education Certificate
- Occupational Certificate
- School Psychologist Certificate
- School Counselor License
- School Administrator
- Provisional Certificate holders may renew using SCECHs (renewable every 3 years - provisionals may be renewed twice)

session. Completed paperwork and payment must be submitted prior to the
end of the day. Participant fees are $5.00 and non-refundable. Berrien
RESA cannot invoice for the SCECH participant fees.

required by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). This means
attending all sessions according to the approved schedule including
arriving on time and remaining for the duration of each session. MDE
and Berrien RESA review all programs and monitor attendance. Program
planners determine the method for documenting attendance. It is the responsibility of each participant that their attendance has been documented. Failure to comply with program requirements, including attendance, will result in disallowance of SCECH credit.
Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS)
All SCECHs earned will be awarded to educators and administrators via the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS).
Once uploaded to MOECS, participants will receive an email directing
them to to complete an evaluation.
